AI/ML Enabled Medical Devices Working Group: Progress on Revised AI Lifecycle Proposal

The AI/ML Enabled Medical Devices Working Group is working towards submitting a revised New Work Item Proposal on the AI Lifecycle for approval. The group is currently reviewing public consultation comments regarding the Good Machine Learning Practice (GMLP) Guiding Principles and plans to submit the final version to the management committee by the end of 2024.

The group is reviewing comments from the public consultation on the GMLP Guiding Principles, which closed on August 30th.
Final Proposal Submission:

The final version of the proposal will be submitted to the management committee by December 2024.
Upcoming Face-to-Face Meeting:

The group is preparing for an in-person meeting before the end of the year to discuss and finalize key aspects of the work item.
The progress on these items is integral to establishing robust guidelines for AI and machine learning practices in the medical device industry, ensuring safety and compliance as these technologies evolve.
