The Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) has outlined the agenda for its 9th Plenary Meeting, set to cover a range of key topics related to cosmetic safety. The meeting will be held in Luxembourg with a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation.

Key Agenda Topics:

Follow-ups on Adopted Opinions: Updates on previously adopted opinions by the Directorate-General for Growth (DG GROW).
New Mandates: Discussion on new and draft mandates related to consumer safety.
Final Opinions on Cosmetic Ingredients: Final opinions on the safety of various cosmetic ingredients, including those used in personal care products.
Nanomaterials in TiO2 Coatings: Analysis of nanomaterials, particularly in titanium dioxide (TiO2) coatings.
Draft Opinions: Review of draft opinions on Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, a commonly used sunscreen agent.
This meeting will provide insights into ongoing safety evaluations and contribute to the scientific foundation of cosmetic safety standards in the EU.
