The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) has released new guidelines on medication review to optimize medicine use and enhance patient health outcomes. These guidelines aim to:

  • Facilitate structured evaluations of patients’ medications.
  • Address medication-related problems and ensure optimal usage for better health outcomes.
  • Promote collaboration and provide evidence supporting a positive cost-benefit ratio from medico-economic studies.
  • Support adherence to the Council of Europe Resolution CM/Res(2020).

These guidelines, developed by the Committee of Experts on Quality and Safety Standards, are designed to improve the overall quality and safety of medication management
