On February 18, 2025, the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals was updated to align chemical names with those recognized by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). This revision ensures accuracy and consistency in chemical nomenclature without changing the identity or properties of substances.
The updates standardize names with global classification systems, improving regulatory compliance and reducing confusion. Examples of name corrections include adjustments to Propanal, 2,3-dihydroxy-, and Hexanedioic acid derivatives.
These changes enhance documentation accuracy, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and international communication within the chemical industry.
